Camping with the O'Brien's...WHY!?!

The perks of unemployment continue! As our time here ends we have tried to get together with everyone we love to say good bye to them. It just so happens that this good bye took 4 days in beautiful Morro Bay, Ca. We drove up to Orcutt on Thursday night where we stayed with Shawn (one of Steven's best men), Kenna (Shawn's wife), Cormac (one of the cutest 2 1/2 year old's you'll ever meet) and little Birdie (the newest member of the family) for the night before we headed off to Morro Bay. Although we had been camping all summer, this trip was different because we got to ditch the tents and trade them in for an all American motor home! Life of luxury here we come! (if you can't tell, Steven and I were very excited)

We did some fishing, surfing, shopping and camp fire-ing: all with Cormac's constant asking, "why??" I had totally forgotten all about that stage of lif as I've been around more babies lately then kids. Steven quickly learned how to get around Cormac asking "why":

It started out:
Steven: "Walk around the fire pit this way Cormac"
Cormac: "why?"
Steven: "Because I don't want you to get too close to the fire"
Cormac: "why?" (btw, all the "why's" came in his super cute squeaky little 2 yrold voice)
Steven: "Because its hot and it will burn you"
Cormac: "why?"
Steven: "Because that's how God made it"

and it ended:
Cormac: "What are you doing??"
Steven: "I'm lining my fishing pole, so I can go fishing, to try to catch a fish, so I can cook it and eat it, because that's how God made it."
Cormac: "ok"

Here are some pictures of our time with the O'Briens:
